Using Hermes with JBoss

JMS Security and Hermes

Postby madhusudhan » Tue Oct 30, 2007 12:09 pm

Hello Colin

I’ve got my JBoss Messaging Provider secured. Each individual destination is tied down to a role/username security. Now, I’m not sure how I can access these destinations from Hermes as any access to these destinations requires credentials.

I’ve added the credentials by right clicking the session(see attached window.jpg)

However, this seems to not work. It throws ‘User null not authenticated’ exception (see, attached the exception.jpg):

I couldn’t find any input area for security credentials based on individual destinations. I am assuming by inputting the credentials via the above window may set the security level to *all* the destinations, am I right?

Thanks again for your patience and help.

Hi Madhu,

The model in Hermes is that all the destinations under the session node share the same connection and hence credentials. you would have to create a session for each destination.

I can see this could be a bit onerous.

I see you've raised an issue here http://hermesjms.org/jira/browse/HJMS-55

It should not be too difficult to let you apply a credential override on a per destination basis.

Regards,

Colin.
