differences between Search/Filter/Selector

Hello Colin
I’ve searched on the website to find relevant documentation regarding the following, but couldn’t find any. I’m looking for the information/differences between:
- Search
- Filter
- Selector (I know it’s a JMS Selector, but didn’t know how it’s different from the two above).

I’m not sure how I can differentiate between these three.

I'll appreciate any input.

I have another related question:

I am not sure whether there' any functional requirement behind this, but looks like it's not possible to search just user header properties. That is, if I check the 'Search user header properties' box, automatically one of the other two check boxes is clicked.

Does it mean that the header properties search is either regex or string based?
